Purpose Driven Advocacy Center (PDAC)
Full-Time | 32 Hours Per Week
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Pay Range: $18.00–$23.00 per Hour

The Purpose Driven Advocacy Center (PDAC) exists to empower youth, families, and communities through education, life-skills development, mentorship, advocacy, and community engagement. Through innovative programming, strategic partnerships, and community-centered initiatives, PDAC creates opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, and neighborhoods while honoring the legacy of service established through the Rev. John L. Butler Education & Community Center.
As PDAC continues to grow and expand its programs, partnerships, and community impact, we are seeking a dedicated Program & Community Engagement Assistant to help support and strengthen our day-to-day operations and community initiatives.
Position Summary
The Program & Community Engagement Assistant plays a key role in supporting PDAC’s programs, events, community partnerships, outreach efforts, and communications. This position works closely with the Executive Director to coordinate program logistics, engage participants and volunteers, maintain records and reporting systems, support community engagement activities, and assist with marketing and communications efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Support
Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing PDAC programs, workshops, and community initiatives.
Support participant registration, enrollment, attendance tracking, and follow-up communication.
Prepare program materials, participant packets, supplies, and resources.
Coordinate logistics for workshops, trainings, meetings, and special events.
Assist with facilitator, speaker, volunteer, and partner coordination.
Maintain program calendars and schedules.
Support program evaluation efforts and collect participant feedback.
Assist with grant and program reporting needs as requested.
Community Engagement & Outreach
Serve as a welcoming and professional point of contact for participants, families, volunteers, and community partners.
Assist with outreach to schools, community organizations, businesses, community organizations, and partner agencies.
Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and communication.
Represent PDAC at community events, resource fairs, and outreach opportunities.
Help strengthen relationships with community stakeholders and partners.
Assist with distributing information about programs, events, and community resources.
Event Planning & Support
Assist with planning and execution of workshops, community events, performances, resource fairs, family engagement activities, clothing giveaways, and special initiatives.
Coordinate event logistics, supplies, materials, and setup needs.
Support registration, check-in, and participant engagement during events.
Assist with event setup and breakdown.
Capture photos, testimonials, and participant feedback when appropriate.
Ensure events are welcoming, organized, and reflective of PDAC’s mission and values.
Communications & Marketing Support
Create basic marketing materials including flyers, event graphics, social media graphics, and promotional materials using established PDAC branding using Canva.
Assist with maintaining PDAC’s social media presence across Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
Schedule social media content and help maintain a consistent content calendar.
Monitor engagement and notify the Executive Director of messages, comments, and opportunities requiring follow-up.
Promote programs, events, volunteer opportunities, fundraising initiatives, and community outreach efforts through digital communications.
Collect photos, stories, and program highlights for use in marketing materials, reports, newsletters, and grant communications.
Assist with website updates and online event listings as needed.
Help ensure all communications are professional, accurate, and aligned with PDAC’s mission and brand.
Administrative & Operational Support
Maintain accurate program records, databases, participant information, and reporting systems.
Assist with data entry, filing, and document organization.
Prepare meeting materials, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
Monitor shared email accounts and respond to inquiries as directed.
Help maintain inventory of program supplies and materials.
Support implementation and maintenance of organizational systems and processes.
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Reliable transportation for local meetings and events.
Commitment to serving diverse communities and families.
Preferred Qualifications
Some college preferred; equivalent experience considered
Experience working with youth, families, schools, community organizations, or nonprofit programs.
Experience coordinating events, volunteers, or community initiatives.
Experience creating flyers, social media graphics, or marketing materials using Canva or similar design platforms.
Experience managing or scheduling content for social media platforms.
Familiarity with databases, CRM systems, Monday.com, Salesforce, or similar tools.
Experience with community outreach and stakeholder engagement.
Bilingual abilities are a plus.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days, the Program & Community Engagement Assistant will:
Confidently manage participant and volunteer communications.
Support the successful execution of PDAC programs and events.
Maintain accurate records and tracking systems.
Create and schedule social media and promotional content that supports PDAC initiatives.
Build positive relationships with participants, volunteers, partners, and community members.
Anticipate program and event needs and proactively assist with solutions.
Serve as a professional and welcoming representative of PDAC in the community.
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time position (32 hours per week).
Four-day workweek: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Hourly pay range of $18.00–$23.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
